As an American I don’t know a lot about Indian culture but I do know a lot about living together (having lived with quite a few women.)

People live together in the States for various reasons. But I think one of the major ones is because a lot of us are a bit scared of commitment.

In the American society NOTHING is permanent. You don’t have to commit to anything for any length of time. Marriage goes against 200 years of American progress.

I suggest you be careful following everything the West does. No one is really driving.

See its good to be proud of your culture but you need to understand the nature of the time now. One who doesn’t change with time, lacks behind in every aspect of life. Today’s youth is very open and free and want to live life on their own terms and conditions.

I don’t think its wrong till the time a 3rd person is not affected by it. Instead i think these kind of relations give an opportunity to both the partners to know each other better, in case they plan to get married.

You mean they should change partners till the time finally get someone for marriage? Then what about the ‘character’ of the individual, which gets a lot of weightage in india at the time of marriage. This can also expose them to the STDs.
